“Poustinia”: The Art of Gendron Jensen (Screening and Discussion)

Location: Palmer Lipcon Auditorium

Directed and produced by Kristian Berg, “Poustinia” is a documentary short about Gendron Jensen, a man passionately devoted to his artistic calling. He draws detailed, precise images of bones. Though bones traditionally represent sterility and death, Jensen sees "emissaries - portals unto exaltation - bespeaking all of creation" and invites us to look deeper into nature. After the screening, visitors are invited to engage in conversation with the filmmaker and museum staff in two current exhibitions featuring an array of still-life paintings.
