Cynthia White received her MFA at the Academy of Art University in Film and Television. Her work as a filmmaker and multimedia artist has been screened, broadcast and presented at conferences in the US, Australia, Mexico and Chile. In addition to festival awards, she has received funding and artist residencies through municipal agencies in Australia, namely The City of Fremantle (Fremantle Community Arts Grant), The Fremantle Arts Center, and the Central Institute of Technology (Western Australia). Collaborations with international researchers and artists at SymbioticA, an artistic laboratory dedicated to the research, learning, critique and hands-on engagement with the life sciences, have shaped her more recent work about memory (Evolving Memory) and her current investigations into interspecies microbial ecologies. Her work at the ADRI is to further the research initiatives of the ADRI through media as well as engage the community in cross disciplinary conversations about interspecies (human and domestic animal) microbial ecosystems found in regional Central Pennsylvania.
